I loved working with Nicole, so talented! I chose this wall for her guitar series, for a laid back cool look. She really relaxed into her music roll.
Her mom wanted to showcase her music with her brother downtown as a heirloom wall portrait, where they have grown up. Their home town. The night shot of them with Nicole totally enjoying their love of music together. That is the kind of portraiture I like to do.. meaningful!
OK, so she wanted to do something a little wild (I think she’s a Rockstar at heart). It was fun but we settled for a more mature image… so beautiful!
Fun, fun, fun. is what Niki is!
What looks! pouty, silly, fun, beautiful.. she has it all!

Introducing Tammy Portrait Artist Seniors’ Top Model!
Working with Emilie was easy and fun. I think I sold her on the fact that she is a capable, beautiful, girl who can Model! We had fun bouncing around the Brownstone at The Villages and then her house where dad brought out the old ford truck. I loved those images and Emilie seemed to fit right in that environment! Now I just have to get her to sing for me!
Surprised Em with her prizes!
Thanks to all the people who voted for her on Facebook she won a spa day at Infinite Natural Day Spa and a cut/style and manicure from Hello Gorgeous Salon!
I can’t express enough thanks to all the folks who came out last Friday to my first gallery opening at Brick City Center for the Arts. We had fun taking iPhone selfies and chatting how the project turned out. Even with the rain we had over 140 visitors.
I wanted to thank the Terry and Paulette at MCA (Marion Culture Alliance) for their diligence in getting this show ready, and Donna Healy Strickland for making such great food in which the majority was gluten free for me! Thanks Donna!
Please visit my exhibit at the Brick City Center for the Arts in downtown ocala near the square and don’t forget once a month on the second Friday we have Bag it at the Brick where you can bring your lunch and enjoy some kind of art performance while you eat! This Friday is Donna Leeward sharing what inspires her art.
You can also see the evenings fun at my facebook gallery page. With community support we can keep bringing more interesting art projects to the gallery and you never know who will be the next inspired artist!

This time of year always makes me think about family and family portraits because my Family Portrait Month starts in October. Last year I worked with Chandra Smile Designs and my professional photography organization to raise money for Operation smile and this year we’re working to help Dando Amor, a non profit charity dedicated to improving the lives of orphans living in deplorable conditions in the developing world.
But this year it’s my own family that I’m thinking about. I recently helped my mom pack up to move closer to her brother and sister-in-law who has a long term illness. Mom will be able to help her brother care for her. I know it’ll be a great move for everyone, but I’ll miss having my mom close to me!
As we were packing her house and all her photographs it made me realize how important family portraits are! It’s great to be able to look back on all the portraits and remember the great times we had growing up.
I will miss having her close and I’m so glad we have portraits to keep us in each other’s day-to-day thoughts. Please take the time this year to preserve your family in some photographic art.

There comes a time in ones life when work isn’t enough and while I have thoroughly enjoyed my work as a photographer, living, breathing and becoming my work for others; I have lost myself in that work like so many before me.
While I do my job as a portraitist, I have an obligation to work with my clients to create an image he or she will truly love and display in their home and while I love this, I need to take that process further.
So I decided to be inspired with a new project that I feel will appeal to my colleagues, family and friends. At least it will create a buzz about looking at portraiture differently. I know I have.
Thus, begins a new project that I hope you will all not only participate but enjoy as well. Please read the call for subjects to play the role I ask and see what happens in that process. Let go, be real and see how the world can see the real you!
